did Japan just do region block most of the products from outside of Japan?
AFAIK they blocked the 'つるぺた' (loli), '学校/学園' (school/academy), '制服' (uniform), 'ざぁ~こ ♡ ' (mesugaki) and '学生' (schoolgirl) tags from all regions except Japan since the 25/2/25. They're currently still visible with a VPN though.
AI-generated content is also still blocked in most countries.

A dark day indeed as DLsite finally bent the knee fully. Sure, the point system were a hassle but at least everything was visible to all potential customers (ai-content excluded). Their goal was to increase the amount of international customers but excluding a lot of their content to enable mastercard and visa again is questionable at best imo.

DLsite already has shown their true colors through ci-en. Japanese users themselves have left the platform after having a few issues. Toranoana/Fantia seem to be similar, not sure about other companies.

If someone's way too rich and bored, instead of making stuff that explodes the instant someone looks at it, laughing, then doing it again, maybe become an anonymous philanthropist and help with a few issues - it's not like the world will ever have a shortage of them, either first-world problems or real life atrocities.

(VPN and VPS also are restricted due to abuse and criminal use, hence the need to find one that isn't blacklisted - if it becomes blacklisted without any wrongdoing happening and a total lack of legal grounds for such restrictions other than "my place, my rules", see the next sentence. It's not always the company's fault but I refuse to play devil's advocate for companies with rock solid evidence backing that they are the ones at fault and trying to downplay that part.)
